Setup for domains not in the same account

If you set up an Office 365 from GoDaddy account on a domain name not in the same account (i.e. in a different GoDaddy account or registered elsewhere), you'll need to complete additional steps to get your new email accounts working.

We'll need you to make changes to your domain's DNS records twice:

  1. Verify your domain ownership by setting a TXT record where your domain is.
  2. Set Office 365 as your domain's mail destination by changing other DNS records, including your MX records which controls where your domain's email goes.

Next steps

After you set up your email account and get everything situated it can take up to 48 hours before email starts getting routed to Office 365. Typically, it's much faster than that, though.

Once you're receiving email, you can check it using one of the following methods:
